Preface :

Present time there are a good number of seafood restaurants in Kolkata. But today I am going to talk about an eatery that serves quality seafood dishes but not an expensive fine dine-in. FOOD BAY is that small seafood joint that gives you Big sensation on your taste buds.

We had long waited to visit this food joint. This Blog is about our experience at Food Bay. For a quick review, you can always scroll down to check our foodie-meter and we have done the review of Covid-19 measurement also.

This seafood eatery is located at City Centre Hangout Food Court.

The Ambience of Food Bay, Kolkata:

This is a small take away joint. But the surrounding has a great ambiance for hanging out with friends, couples, families. This is the famous Hangout Foodcourt of The City center, Saltlake. One can not miss this little boat-shaped food joint with a huge shark and surfing board on one side. It’s like an open-air auditorium with steps to sit and chill out with your acquaintances while enjoying Food Bay’s Delicacies.

Hygiene & COVID-19 measurement:  

This eatery is extremely serious about Covid-19. They tried their best to prevent it. The staff wearing masks and head caps. They are providing hand sanitizers before delivering the food.

 Service :

We are satisfied with their service. They were very helpful and attentive always. Food takes more than five minutes to serve but the food deserves that.

Food we ordered:

It has a decent range of seafood and chicken items on their menu card. They have some good beverages also. We ordered Mocha Frappe, Ice Tea, Butterfly Shrimp, Chicken Cheese Wrap, and Chilly Milly Crispy Squid.

Mocha Frappe:

This beverage was delicious. They have given a strong flavour of coffee in this. That layer of ice cream makes it special and smooth. A MUST-HAVE item.

Ice Tea:

Ice tea at Food Bay was light and refreshing. It does remove all the stress away. But I would like it more if there was a bit more tea in this.

Butterfly shrimp:

Deep-fried Shrimps with a coating of cornflakes and accompanied with French fries were just mindblowing. Too Chilly Milly Crispy Squid outer side and inside filled with soft fresh shrimp flesh. RECOMMENDED!!!

Chicken cheese Wrap:

Chickens are wrapped with cheese like a jacket. This dish was very tasty but chickens were a little chewy. Lots of chili flakes were there in that item.

Chilly Milly Crispy Squid:

Now, this is a Delicacy! crispy fried squids with the touch of chili flakes and tangy sauce were just awesome. You should not miss that while visiting there.

Wallet Damage:

I would not say FOOD Bay is cheap but they have to charge that minimum to provide fresh Seafood. So it’s a win-win situation.

Conclusion:

If I visit the City center again I would visit Food Bay again for sure.
