Descriptions of Qutb Shahi Tombs:
Excuse my impudence, as it is not my cup of tea to describe properly this collection of grand mausoleums. After I entered through the entrance, my feet stuck as soon I turn my head, there was a big mausoleums jsdt beside which was hidden behind trees. Later I came to know that this one was the youngest, the tomb of Sultan Abdullah Qutb Shah (1626-1672).

Qutb Shahi Tombs is situated inside of Ibrahim Bagh. Although, you can find every bit of history on the internet, but let me tell about this marvel in short. This is the largest dynastic necropolis in India built in 16th and 17th century by Qutb Shahi dynasty. The tombs depicts works of Persian and Indian genres of architecture.

There are eight main tombs, seven for the first seven Sultans and the tomb of Hayat Bakshi Begum also known as Maa Saheba, along with tombs for Royal physicians, royal courtesans and commander-in -chief. Each main tombs had its own mosque. There is a enormous mortuary bath for the ritual bathing. Six historic stepwells(baolis) are in there to supply necessary water. These stepwells are so big, that they had used Elephants to pull water from the baolis or transport the stones to make them. The grandest of all the tombs, was of the fifth Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah who is the founder/builder of Hyderabad and the famous monument Charminar.

Every tomb is different from other, you can even notice a two storied tomb of Sultan Jamsheed Quli Qutb Shah. The whole area is of 106 acre, and a beautiful garden, amidst which the mausoleums were standing silently with grandeur. This is a perfect place for weekend outing with families and for couples. We spend sufficient time to observe the architecture closely, no one disturbed. This place spreads a positive vibe that will stay with even after returning to your place.
