FICUS GARDEN, HYDERABAD – AN OFFBEAT GEM FOR FAMILY & COUPLE HANGOUT
Ficus Garden,A jungle amidst the concrete jungle.
Ficus Garden, Preface:
We discovered Ficus Garden while researching lesser-known areas of Hyderabad. It was surprising to find such abundant greenery within one of the city’s busiest areas, Jubilee Hills. So one fine afternoon, we decided to visit this park. A jungle amidst the concrete jungle.
Ficus Garden, Location:
Google Map location: 26, Rd No. 51, Silent Valley Hills, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana 500110
You will find this park after crossing Telugu Medium Kitchen & Bar. We just followed the map and appeared there without any hassle.
A Little History on Ficus Garden:
We did not find any official history documented near the garden. According to available information from the internet, it is found that the garden is the vision of notable artist and sculptor R. Ramdev Rao, and this garden is a part of his project Experium. The name “Ficus Garden” is derived from the significant presence of trees belonging to the Ficus genus, such as the Banyan, Fiddle Leaf Fig, Rubber Fig, Weeping Fig, and Port Jackson Fig, which are found within the park.

Our Views on the park, Ficus garden:
“Lush Greenery” – those are the first words that came to mind once we entered the garden. The first thing we noticed was that the park is spread out and has a vast area to roam around. There are so many pathways in different directions to walk around. It’s like a solved maze, and the paths are interconnected. One of the paths leads to the Lake Durgam Cheruvu. We started to follow a pavement while enjoying the green nature and the chirping of different birds. If you can be attentive, you will find various birds flying over the branches of the big trees. Once we explored the whole garden, we sat on a bench amongst many and relished the soothing breeze and open sky without any interruption.

Key Points, Do’s and Don’ts:
- There is no entry fee.
- The authority is very particular about the timings, Ficus Garden opens every day from 6 AM to 9 AM in the morning and 4 AM to 6 PM in the afternoon.
- Wear shoes, as there are abrupt growths of bushes and shrubs; no need to take a risk with insect and snake bites.
- Do not litter with fast food packets and water bottles.
